Living an Enchanted Life

I am such a lucky person. I get pretty much everything I want, and the things I don’t get I didn’t really want that badly in the first place. This is not bragging, I really do get everything I want. And, it’s not just stuff, I get people, too.

One day when I was about 14 years old I was watching ZOOM, a kid’s show on PBS in Boston, and I fell madly in love with one of the kids on the show. The next day my friend, Dan, introduced me to his brother who, you guessed it, looked, sounded and acted just like that kid on the show. Two days later he asked me out. Cool Beans! Well, it turned out that I really wasn’t ‘in love’ with the kid on the show and it took me a couple of weeks before I could graciously remove myself from the relationship. (That was a big lesson for me; be careful what you wish for.)

So anyway, here I am, living my enchanted life, and then out comes this movie called, The Secret, and, oh crap, I’m not the only one living an enchanted life. There’s actually a law about it, the Law of Attraction. OK, so I’m not as special as I thought, but how many people are really going to go see that movie anyway. Holy Moley, Opra saw it…and now there’s a book and it’s on Opra’s book club.

That’s it, my secret is out…well…Rhonda Byrne’s Secret is out.

Seriously, The Secret is a great movie for anyone interested in self-development, success, peace, abundance, fulfillment, better health, love, money…are you getting the picture yet?

Since this movie came out in 2oo6 many people have already seen it, but if you haven’t here’s a little bit of my take on the film.

I found The Secret Movie to be an exciting documentary-ish film with some Hollywood-style effects thrown in. It strikes me as a self-help, make you think, kind of movie.

I had not heard of any of the participants, except Marci Shimoff, prior to seeing it. There were some that I didn’t connect with at all, many that were fairly interesting, but there was one person that really stood out to me.

Joe Vitale – I have such a strong affinity for this guy. I didn’t find this out from the movie but, he is into hypnosis and marketing; right up my alley! He’s written a bunch of books and one of my favorites is the Attractor Factor. I also have his audio book The Key. I love his analogy of the Universe being like a catalog where we place our orders and the Universe delivers.

If you haven’t seen the movie or read the book, what are you waiting for? At the very least it’s interesting and entertaining, at the very most, you’ll be living an enchanted life, too.

You can watch The Secret on Netflix, Amazon Prime and Vudu.

You’re probably wondering why I’m reviewing an older movie and book. All I can say is that I sat down to write in my blog, the title Living an Enchanted Life came to me and I just followed where it led me. I have a strong sense that there will be those that need to connect with The Secret and I’ll bet I needed the reminder.
