Lot’s of people tell me they have times when they feel inspired or get a flash of insight and quickly dismiss it as ‘daydreaming’ or ‘just their imagination’. If that’s something you find yourself doing STOP IT RIGHT NOW!
A sure fire way to block your intuition is to start questioning it. If you’re just learning to listen to your intuition and inspirations here’s how to tell the difference.
First, tune in to your emotional state after you receive the information, take a minute to check in and see how you were feeling when you were in the moment.
— Imagination and Daydreaming feels whimsical. It makes you feel good in a ‘look at me smiling at nothing’ kind of way.
— Intuition and Inspiration is nothing like that…it excites you. It pops in and gives you a shock of information. Even when it’s just a whisper you’ll feel that spark of adrenaline, like there’s something that needs doing about it.
Still there are those of us just learning self-awareness and it’s difficult to tell a smile from a spark. If you find that you’re not quite sure about what your feeling then this is an excellent time to do some inner self work and get clearer on your feelings. (Let me know if you would like some help with this.)
NOTE – Now that I’ve told you how to tell the difference between Intuition and Imagination let me slightly contradict myself. Please don’t think for a minute that daydreaming can’t ignite the greatest intuitive moment of your life…BUT, don’t stop and question your ‘moment’ while it’s happening or you’ll probably chase it away.
The best thing you can do, the thing I tell all my students to do, is to not take it too seriously, keep it lighthearted. When you least expect it you’ll just know.
