It wasn’t until recently that I fully understood what being Content means.
It’s not one of the current buzz words used to describe living your best life, it doesn’t come up in every day conversation, and most of us probably see being content as a passive compromise to keep the peace in a relationship.
Contentment is actually just being.
It’s a place of peace, a place of relaxing into yourself, letting go of struggles and desires and needs.
IT’S NOT A VERB
Contentment isn’t a thing you do, it’s a thing you are. Being content is a way of life. It’s the inner knowing that everything is just as it should be, no matter what is going on around you.
When you choose contentment over struggling and pushing and fighting and striving and worrying, you quiet the chatter in your head and create positive emotional and physiological changes.
Being in Contentment is associated with the Large Intestine Energy Meridian and brings freedom from overthinking, releasing sadness and experiencing healthy lungs, large intestines, sinuses, skin, teeth and throat.
It is a choice that you make, it’s a choice to stay in the moment, it’s a choice to be at one with yourself and all things and when you reach that place on oneness you never want to be anywhere else.
