Sorry…Not Sorry!

Anyone who knows me knows I’m empathic, and being an empath I tend to say, “I’m Sorry,” often

I’m Sorry for Your Loss

I’m Sorry You’re Not Feeling Well

I’m Sorry You’re Going Through Difficulties

I’m Sorry Your Feelings Are Hurt

I’m Sorry Things Are Complicated

And, these are not empty words, I truly feel what people are going through and want them to know – I See You –

But, there’s another use for I’m sorry and that’s to Take Responsibility For Harming Another

It’s become popular now to Not Be Sorry for harming another, and I feel that, too. The more I learn about the science of the mind and the way our energy systems work the more I understand…

No One Can Make You Feel Anything

All of our emotions come from our own personal past experiences and our beliefs. Is it fair to make someone else responsible for never doing or saying anything that touches on any of our past negative experiences or our beliefs? How could someone else possibly know every single thing we’ve been through or every belief we hold?

And, is it even possible for me to never do or say Anything to Anyone that would ever touch on any possible negative past experience or belief they have had?

If I Tried would I even be able to Say Anything At All?

So, keeping all this in mind is there ever a reason to use the Taking Responsibility ‘I’m Sorry’?

Actually, there is…

A man named Dr. Hew Len cured an entire ward of criminally mentally ill patients using the power of the taking responsibility I’m Sorry. It’s actually an ancient Hawaiian purification ritual called Ho’oponopono. He explains,

“I was simply healing the part of me that created them.”

He never met any of them, he just opened each person’s file and used Ho’oponopono to heal His Past.

Authentic Ho’oponopono works from the belief that our words, actions, beliefs and biases act like a pebble in a pond where the ripples are far reaching and touch everyone and everything everywhere. Is says there is a responsibility for each other and everything in the world – within us…that the energy we put out impacts everything everywhere. So, there is a cleaning ritual to undo the harm we may have unknowingly caused and the ritual chant goes like this:

I’m Sorry – for any thoughts, words, actions, beliefs or biases that may have contributed to your pain and suffering in any way

Please Forgive Me – for all the ways my wounded and confused self may have harmed you

Thank You – for your forgiveness and for being in this world

I Love You – and I am truly grateful for you

Side Note: Or the real meaning of Ho’oponopono is – there is only one of us manifesting as everyone and everything – and this ritual is healing ourself
